ON Thursday, as with each April 25, central Queenslanders will remember the fallen along with past and present defence personnel in commemoration of Anzac Day.
A dawn service will be held at the Rockhampton Botanical Gardens, beginning at 4.27am and the service will be conducted on the eastern side of the cenotaph.
Parking will be available in Phyllis and Spencer streets and a free bus will leave the Mandalay Medical Centre at Stocklands at 3.45am. Other free services will depart City Centre Plaza (Bolsover Street) at 3.45am and the Botanic Gardens at 5.45am.
The Anzac Day parade will commence at 10am but marshalling will begin at 9am at the corner of Archer and Alma streets. A later service at 11am will be held at the Riverside Park in Victoria Parade.
The Rats of Tobruk Association will host a memorial service at Jefferies Park, Albert Street, at 8am with morning tea served after the ceremony.
The Queensland Country Women's Association will host their Anzac Day breakfast from 6-8.30am at the Rockhampton Masonic Centre, Alma Street.
The Central Queensland Military Museum will host a gunfire breakfast at the Sergeant's Mess, Drill Hall, at 5am.
A dawn service will be held at the Memorial Buch Square, The Caves, at 4.20am. Marshalling for the march will be at 12.15pm to commence at 12.30pm from the Lions Park, Barmoya Road. Light refreshments will be served at The Caves Country Pub following the service.
By the water
The Yeppoon service will commence at 4.28am at cenotaph, Beaman Park, James Street, Yeppoon. A later service will be held at 11am at the same location. The march will commence at 10.30am at the Old Yeppoon Railway Station, James Street.
A gunfire breakfast will be held at the Yeppoon RSL Rooms, 15 Normandy Street from 5am until 10am.
Lunch will also be held there from 11.30am and Two-Up will be played from 2pm at the Marsden Tavern, Hill Street.
The Emu Park service will begin at 5am at the cenotaph at 1 Emu Street and a later service will be held at 9.30am.
The march will start at Granville Street at 9am and the marshalling time is 8.45am.
The Keppel Sands community can attend a service at 8am at Schofield Park with breakfast available afterwards and in Marlborough the local Lions Club will host its Dawn Service at Lions Park from 4.27am before a barbecue breakfast.
The dawn service will commence at 4.27am at Memorial Park, Tynan Street. Marshalling for the march will be at 3.35pm for a 4pm start from the Marmor State School, Rogers Street.
An afternoon service will be held at 4.27pm at Memorial Park followed by a free barbecue at the Railway Hotel.
Inland ceremonies
The Alton Downs and Districts Memorial Committee will host a dawn service at 4.27am at the Alton Downs Hall. Following the service a gunfire breakfast and fellowship will be held in the hall.
Marshalling time for the march is at 4am and will commence at 4.27am from Lawrie Street. The march will end at the cenotaph on James Street where a service will be held. At the conclusion of the service a gunfire breakfast will be held at the RSL for a small donation.
The Bouldercombe Progress Association will host their dawn service at the Lions Park from 4.28am. A cooked breakfast will be provided with a gold coin donation at the Bouldercombe Recreation Complex.
A service will be held from 1.30pm at the History Centre in School Road, Mt Chalmers, followed by a sausage sizzle and afternoon tea.
Mt Morgan will present its own dawn service from 4.30am in Anzac Park, Morgan Street, and another there from 11am. The Stanage Township Organisation will host a dawn service at 6am at Memorial Garden, Banksia Road with marshalling at 10.30am for a 10.55am start from Shelters Endeavour Park.
A dawn service will be held at the cenotaph in Emerald from 4.28am and a march will begin at 10.30am from Lions Park.
Countryside
In Blackwater a dawn service will be held at the cenotaph, Arthur Street, from 4:25am and there will be a ceremony in the CWA Hall, Church Street, Bluff from 10:30am.
The dawn service in Springsure will commence at 5.30am in front of the Springsure Hall. The March will commence at 10am but participants need to assemble on the ANZ corner at 9.45am.
