Whether it was for horses, bulls, or Australia's best butt, the small outback town of Julia Creek was the place to be over the weekend.
Barely two months after Julia Creek was devastated by the floods that swept through north west Queensland, thousands of visitors from all corners of the country showed up for the annual Dirt and Dust Festival.
The festival kicked off on Friday with bog snorkelling and pig races, before the gruelling Julia Creek triathlon first thing on Saturday morning.
Punters then scrubbed up for an afternoon of horse racing before trotting back into town for bull riding and perhaps the weekend's most anticipated event, the best butt competition.
Kim Alcorn from Mt Isa won the women's triathlon while Jye Spriggs from Townsville won the men's event.
Will Purcell from Victoria won the bull ride, while Queensland Weekender host Lee Carseldine and Maddie Beavis from Townsville won the best butt competition.
