Heavy bulls go for 250c at Monto
North Burnett Saleyard operators Monto Cattle and Country yarded 405 head at their fortnightly fat and store sale.
Prime cattle and feeder cattle sold to solid rates while younger cattle were harder to place with the very dry and hot conditions prevailing across many districts.
Heavy bulls sold from 204c to 250c/kg. Burnett Valley Pork sold Speckled Park trade steers for 260c/kg or $1225.
Heavy cows generally sold from 210c to 223c/kg. Eugene and Jess Mollenhagen sold Brahman cows 550kgs for 223c/kg or $1227.
C and M Marbach’s Charbray cows sold to $1240 or 218c/kg. Rob and Sharon Ramage penned Brahman cows 455kgs to realise $965 or 212c/kg. Store cows sold from 120c to 160c/kg.
Limited numbers of feeder steers were penned which sold from 255c to 262c/kg. Galloway Pastoral sold 316kg Braford steers for 247c/kg or $783. Willstock Cattle Co sold Brahman No 8 steers from 235c to 260c/kg topping at $920.
E and J Mollenhagen’s Brahman steers 250kgs sold to 250c/kg or $625.
Cyril Lewis sold Brangus cows and calves for $800/unit and Brahman cows and calves for $760/unit.
Cyril Lewis also sold Brangus heifers 404kgs for 237c/kg or $960.
Karen Hockey sold Santa cross No 8 heifers for 235c/kg or $835. Simbrah weaner heifers account P Jensen sold to $502 or 220c/kg.
G and R Crozier sold Limo cross weaner heifers for $450 or 191c/kg.
