MARKETED around the idea of getting the job done, the Can-Am Outlander with Pro package is pitched at delivering more performance when hauling and towing.
Dubbo NSW Can-Am dealer, Robertsons Motorcycles, store manager, Dale Robertson said he was impressed by the Outlander 570 and the Pro package.
“It has three mode function power steering so you can change the input from the electronic power steering,” he said.
“The low setting will still feel quite solid in the turning, you can then turn it up to a mid range or a high, on the high setting the power steering has a greater input, if you are doing slow work, such as spraying, the steering will feel very light to move.”
Mr Robertson said the Outlander had been designed with practical use situations in mind.
“The wishbone rear swing-arm has less moving parts,” he said.
“There is less metal for debris to get caught on, less chance of anything rubbing up against the CV boots.
“By keeping things away from the CV boot there is no mud or debris build up.”
Mr Robertson said the quad bike featured a lower centre of gravity to increase stability and safety.
“The frame is designed so the motor hangs off the bottom of the frame, rather then having the frame encasing the engine,” he said.
“This forms a kind of backbone through to the bottom of the seat where the motor is slung from underneath.
“They also have quite a large wheel base, which gives them more stability.”
Mr Robertson said an optional safety feature was the use of speed limiting keys.
“The safety keys give you the option of a slow safety key, that will limit the machine to about 40 kilometres an hour, a moderate safety key which limits to 70km/hr, then unlimited which gives the engine full power, which is about 100km/hr,” he said.
