VENDORS and buyers have converged on Charters Towers ahead of the annual Wilangi Invitational Bull Sale.
About 150 people attended a meet and greet function at the Sovereign Tavern tonight ahead of the 31st Wilangi sale, which is being held at the Dalrymple Saleyards from 9am tomorrow.
A line of 270 quality grey Brahman bulls have been put together for the sale, which has drawn buyers from across North and Central Queensland.
As guests mingled, the talk inevitably turned to the weather, with some of the vendors and also buyers having spent the last few days fighting savage bushfires in and around their properties in Central Queensland.
The hot and dry conditions are also set to continue in Charters Towers, with a forecast top of 40C tomorrow.
The only one oblivious to the fuss was baby Elin Chiesa, of Palm Creek Brahmans in Ingham.
Little Elin is only five weeks old, but the daughter of proud parents Peter and Mariah will be attending her second bull sale, having gone to Gold City in Charters Towers already this month.
