CQLX combined agents yarded 1550 head on Friday, consisting of 611 steers and bullocks, 745 heifers, 149 cows, 23 cows and calves, 20 bulls and mickeys. Stock were drawn from Bowen, Nebo, Ubobo, Biloela, Baralaba and local areas. There were no big lines on offer, quality and condition was very mixed with some light conditioned cattle included. The buying panel was reduced which led to an easing trend in some classes although there was improvement in most heavy and store conditioned lines but overall the market held firm on last week’s rates.
Slaughter steers sold to 290c, average 274c, steers 400-500kg made 308c, average 2/2c, steers 300-400kg reached 314c, average 297c, steers 200-300kg made 310c, average 275c and steers under 200kg sold to 332c, average 278c.
Slaughter cows sold to 252c, average 233c, cows 400-450kg made 250c, average 231c, cows 320-400kg reached 222c, average 196c, and cows under 320kg made 191c, average 153c.
Heavy heifers sold to 270c, average 245c, heifers 300-400kg made 280c, average 262c, heifers 200-300kg reached 278c, average 254c, and heifers under 200kg made 258c, average 249c.
Cows and calves sold to $1425/unit, average $1138/unit.
Bulls over 600kg made 270c, average 261c, bulls 450-600kg reached 272c, average 263c and bulls under 450kg sold to 306c, average 245c.
