A total yarding of 1168 head was penned at CQLX on Friday. The sale comprised 547 steers, 516 heifers, 83 cows, 10 cows and calves and 22 bulls and mickeys. Cattle were drawn from Bowen, Nebo, Dingo, Marlborough, Theodore, Stanage Bay, and all local areas. Quality weaner steers and heifers to restockers lifted by up to 20c for both descriptions and better lines of feeder heifers improved on last week. Feeder steers and cows to slaughter remained firm. No bullocks were penned.
Steers 400-500kg made 264.2c, average 264.2c, steers 300-400kg reached 284.2c, average 264.1c, steers 200-300kg made 314.2c, average 285.3c and steers under 200kg sold to 326.2c, average 289.4c.
Slaughter cows sold to 242.2c, average 231.9c, cows 400-450kg made 220c, average 204.1c, cows 320-400kg reached 200.2c, average 173.6c, and cows under 320kg made 156.2c, average 132.2c.
Heavy heifers sold to 256.2c, average 245.1c, heifers 300-400kg made 286.2c, average 260.9c, heifers 200-300kg reached 272.2c, average 251.7c, and heifers under 200kg made 268.2c, average 240.7c.
Cows and calves sold to $1350/unit, average $877/unit.
Bulls over 600kg made 260.2c, average 251.8c, and bulls under 450kg sold to 260c, average 234.1c.
