Scattered storms across the North Burnett slowed the numbers to 300 head for Monto Cattle & Country’s fortnightly fat and store sale.  Prime cattle were in short supply but sold well and store steers saw increased activity for better types while not many heifers were yarded and were tougher to place.

Bulls sold to 263c/kg or $2526 while heavy 8-tooth bullocks sold to $2036 or 267c.  Bill and Beryl Avis sold heavy Droughtmaster cows to 245c or $1470.  K Sanderson sold Brahman cross cows to 240c or $1370.  KWS Partnership sold Charbray cows 493kg to 224c.

Australian Runze Agricultural sold Brangus Droughtmaster cross 2-tooth steers 386kg for 263c or $1017.  Their 4-tooth brothers sold to 248c or $870.  N & J Keitley sold Droughtmaster cross No.8 steers 314kg for 263c or $825.

James Henderson penned Angus cross No.8 steers to realise $590 or 273c.    Trevor and Sue Zielke sold Senepol Droughtmaster cross No.8 steers from 250-268c topping at $680.  Ashenhurst Partnership sold light Braford cross weaner steers to 271c or $425.

Trevor and Sue Zielke sold Senepol cross No.8 heifers 260kg for 200c or $520.  Bill Avis’ Droughtmaster No.8 heifers sold for 205c or $445.  Kasey Sanderson’s Charbray weaner heifers sold to 200c or $453.
