A smaller yarding of 1674 head was presented on Friday at Gracemere consisting of 681 steers, 656 heifers, 233 cows, 39 cows and calves and 65 bulls. Cattle were drawn from all areas of Central Queensland and as far north as Collinsville. Quality was mixed, although overall it was generally good which helped to improve prices for many classes.
Slaughter steers sold to 238.2c, average 224.4c, steers 400-500kg made 254.2c, average 224.6c, steers 300-400kg reached 246.2c, average 225.6c, steers 200-300kg made 268.2c, average 237.4c and steers under 200kg sold to 270.2c, average 230.9c.
Slaughter cows sold to 215.2c, average 191.9c, cows 400-450kg made 210.2c, average 173.5c, cows 320-400kg reached 200.2c, average 142.4c, and cows under 320kg made 98.2c, average 67.5c.
Heavy heifers sold to 230.2c, average 213.5c, heifers 300-400kg made 228.2c, average 206.5c, heifers 200-300kg reached 218.2c, average 194.7c, and heifers under 200kg made 212.2c, average 193c.
Cows and calves sold to $1300/unit, average $840/unit.
