Solid demand saw a Brahman heifer top at $28,000 during Saturday’s NCC and Ooline Brahman Female Sale at Inverrio with the on-property sale situated in Duaringa.
Buyers from across two states and overseas saw grey heifers hit $28,000 while their red counterparts made to $24,000 ending a $6182 bottom line average for vendors, Brett Nobbs, NCC Stud, Duaringa and the Kent family, Ooline Stud, Rannes.
Statistics reveal the result provided an ideal opportunity for bulk buyers to secure cattle at realistic values. The two major buyers accounted for nearly 36 percent of the yard for on average $3354. Rob and Kerry Gowland, Sandalwood Cattle Company, Theebine took 16 for a $3000 average while Roland Everingham, Oakpark, Einasleigh bought eight for a $4063 medium.
Market topper was the 22-month-old, NCC Baby Doll 3759 (JDH Mr Elmo Manso) bought John and Sue Joyce, Tropical Stud, Ingham. Seven Elmo daughters averaged $17,357. Top red was the 19-month-old, NCC Dienka 4014 (IVF) (Elmo) selling to an Australian and a US partnership involving Adam and Tracy Gunthorpe, Tarramba Stud, Banana and Matt and Katie Vines, MKV Ranch, Lufkin, Texas.
Losing bidder was the Kenrol prefix, Gracemere who took the $4000 Ooline Annabelle 1249.
Headlining for Ooline was the 16-month, $12,000, Ooline Fantasia 1273 (16-months) (Ooline Calibre 907) selling to Fenella Nielsen family, Tolmie Creek, Blackwater.
Owen and Lee Scott, Ruan, Clermont returned taking the $22,000, NCC Vanity Fair 3792, signing-off on two to average $13,000. Kimberley Pickersgill, Geneva, Theodore selected the $20,000 NCC Chaperone 4033. NCC Dienka 3840 sold to Chris McCarthy, Junction View for $13,500. Gavin Scott, Rosetta, Collinsville outlaid $17,000 for the Elmo daughter, NCC Lady Di 4073/7 (IVF) ending with a pair to average $12,000. Travis and Neil Harling, Carawah Stud, Springsure selected NCC Miss Data Manso 3782 (Elmo) for $11,000. Two pregnant red Ooline females made $10,000 each. Both daughters of NCC Sabre they carried safely to NCC Manuscript and Jomanda El Toro (P) selling to Peter and Mariah Chiesa, Palm Creek Stud, Ingham and H and H Pastoral, Gympie respectively. William and Helen Tucker, Garuda Stud, Rockhampton parted with $11,000 to secure NCC Jewel 4050 while Howard Nobbs, Mt Vexation, Springsure took two to average $7750 topping at $12,000 for a poll by Willtony Tailor Made (P). Dave and Pearl Christensen, Berida Red Stud, Morganville took five from both stables for on average $4300 topping at $6000 for an Elmo (US) daughter from NCC.
Colin and Katrina Johnson, Jomanda Stud, Grafton, NSW took two Ooline entrants topping at $9000 for a NCC Manuscript daughter PTIC to El Toro (P). Lawson and Sophie Camm, Cambil Stud, Proserpine selected a $6000 Manuscript daughter from Ooline also carrying safely to El Toro (P). Will and Tracey Fenech, FBC Stud, Wowan claimed a $9500 JDH Jene Manso 117/8 (US) daughter from NCC while Paul and Catherine Mackenzie, Arizona Stud, Dingo signed off on a trio to average $6500 topping at $10,500 for a polled Willtony Tailor Made daughter.
