A PEN of award-winning steers voted best on display at the Normanton show are among the cattle bound for Indonesia on the first live export boat out of Karumba in almost 12 months.
Indonesian selector, Asep Saepuloh, from the Kartyana feedlot, where the cattle are headed, traveled to Karumba to view the animals ahead of their journey.

Mr Saepuloh said the feedlot he worked for was the oldest in Indonesia, and was first established in 1983.
It was initially government-owned and has since been privatised.
Mr Saepuloh said he was impressed with the facility at Karumba and the quality of the cattle being shipped out.
“It is excellent, they are very good,” he said.
South East Asian Livestock Services logistics manager Ben Huston presented Mr Saepuloh with a ribbon awarded to the pen of 110 Brahman steers at the Karumba livestock facility on Friday.
The animals spent about a week at the facility being fed and prepared for their journey before the MV Finola set sail on Saturday.
