A slightly smaller yarding of 2040 head was penned at Gracemere on June 22 consisting of 799 steers, 897 heifers, 258 cows, 1 cow and calf and 86 bulls.
Cattle were drawn from Clermont, Collinsville, Bowen, Biloela and Boyne Valley. A smaller crowd attended and buyer confidence was affected.
The market once again eased for the plainer types of cattle as dry weather continues across Central Queensland however quality weaners were sought after by restockers.
Steers to slaughter sold to 237.2c to average 218.4c, steers 400-500kg sold to 258.2c to average 233.4c, steers 300-400kg made 284.2c to average 239c8, steers 200-300kg topped 300.2c to average 269.1c, while steers under 200kg sold to 252c to average 225c.
Slaughter cows made 194.2c to average 177.8c, cows 400-450kg made 199.2c to average 161.4c, cows 320-400kg topped 164.2c to average 126.7c.
Heavy heifers sold to 228.2c to average 210.9c, heifers 300-400kg sold to 246.2c to average 209c, heifers 200-300kg made 292.3c to average 248.2c, while heifers under 200kg made 220c to average 197.2c.
