Quality was generally good and with some good drafts of weaner steers and heifers, buyers buoyantly supported the generally lighter weight store stock.
Prime cattle values tended to either remain firm or slightly lift with bullocks over 550kg selling to 252c/kg to average 237c.
Heavy heifers over 400kg reached 221c to average 203c, heavy cows over 520kg topped at 202c to average 180c, cows in the 450-520kg range sold to 193c to average 179c, while heavy bulls over 600kg made as much as 249c.
In the store section, heavy feeder steers 400-500kg, while few in numbers sold to 243c to average 231c, steers 350-400kg topped at 263c to average 240c, 280-350kg steers sold to a solid top of 304c to average 250c, 200-280kg weaner steers also made to 304c to average 271c.
Meanwhile light steers under 200kg recorded the high value of 304c.
Trade feeder heifers 350-400kg, again light in numbers topped at 210c to average 209c, 280-350kg heifers sold to 212c to average 202c, 200-280kg heifers made as much as 242c to average 199c.
While light heifers under 200kg peaked at 242c. Too few cows and calves to quote this week.
The Esmond family, Lucknow, Emerald sold Euro cross bullocks to 236c to weigh 594kg or $1403, while the Baker Family, Wandana, Springsure offered 557kg young Brangus cows to 202c and $1127.
Lauchie and Carly Ward, Jabiru, Emerald had their Euro cross heifers to 221c for 500kg and $1106, while Charlie Randell, Mt Stuart, Capella had their 630kg Brahman to 185c and $1167.
Charles and Carmel McKinlay, Bloodwood, Yamala had their 602kg Charbray cows to 180c and $1084, while Phil and Margie Dowe, Eldeebar, Dingo offered 278kg Droughtmaster cross steers to make 287c and $854.
