Following show ring, commercial cattle and carcase competition results of the recent Beef 2018 event, bull buyers can have real confidence in the quality, genetics and superior industry performance of the 175 bulls, representing seven breeds, catalogued for Emerald’s Ag-Grow Premier Multi-Breed Bull Sale on Friday, June 29.
Agents for the sale GDL and McCaffrey’s Australian Livestock Marketing, were delighted that Beef 2018 judging strongly endorsed the bulls their NSW and Qld Vendors are offering at this feature sale.
GDL stud stock manager Harvey Weyman-Jones said numerous Ag-Grow sale vendors’ stock exhibiting at Beef 2018 were awarded Broadribbon rosettes across five of the breeds on offer at at Ag-Grow.
“These results highlighted the industry and market suitability of the genetics through the impressive runs of bulls our vendors of the seven breeds have selected for sale,” he said.
Sale co-agent Ken McCaffrey said, importantly Beef 2018 success for Ag-Grow vendors was not confined to the led show ring, as two studs offering bulls at Ag-Grow; Wallawong Premium Beef (Angus and Murray Grey) and Moongool (Charolais and Angus) produced ribbon winning entries in the ANZ National Carcass Competition among 1,077 entries from all over Australia.
“That’s the type of proven performance genetics cattle producers can buy at our Ag-Grow auction,” he said.
In what is the largest Ag-Grow Bull Sale selection for many years, Angus lead the sale with 59 bulls.
Drafts of 48 Charolais, 32 Simmental, 15 Red Angus, 10 Charbray, seven Murray Grey and four Gelbvieh follow in the sale.
Another feature of the offering is the cataloguing of 151 poll or scurr bulls, the highest percentage poll, multi-breed bull sale ever in the region.
Bull buyers set to source a number of quality bulls from this year’s offering will be pleased with the agent’s introduction of a Volume Bull Buyers Bonus for individual buyers of five or more bulls.
In addition, Elite Livestock Auctions have been engaged by the sale agents to livestream the sale online so that all bull buyers can log on, view the sale in progress, and participate in the bidding.
Sale agents are pleased to have a very strong Simmental selection of bulls at Ag-Grow to follow up the exceptional success of the breed in stud and commercial competitions at Beef 2018.
On the back of this success 15 CQ raised Woonallee North bulls (10 polls) are included in the sale draft, representing the first CQ auction offering for the Brett Nobbs/Tom and Lizzy Baker collaborative partnership.
Cattle producers can inspect all Ag-Grow bulls from 10am on Thursday, June 28, and from 7am on sale morning.
