Sale Agents GDL Rural and McCaffrey’s Australian Livestock Marketing are extremely confident they have catalogued a selection of ridden horses up with the best ever offered in Central and Northern Australia, for the Ag-Grow Premier Invitation Horse Sale being held on Saturday, June 30, in Emerald.
Leading horsemen and women from as far away as the Brisbane Valley, Darling Downs, Gympie, South and Central Burnett, Western Qld and many centres of CQ have supported the sale with an attractive, well bred, reliable, ‘good going’ 94 lot draft of horses consisting of 50 mares and 44 geldings.
The horses selected are of broad suitability to campdraft, challenge and horse sport enthusiasts, to station owners looking for top class, quiet, mustering mounts, and to ladies and youths searching for competition and pleasure prospects.
McCaffrey’s Australian Livestock Marketing’s Ken McCaffrey said the draft is by far the best credentialled line-up of ridden horses assembled at a sale in CQ in recent history.
“We’ve never had such a strong representation of industry leading, in-demand, proven, successful bloodlines like this before, which should attract widespread buyer interest,” he said.
He said multiple sale entries sired by ‘leading lights’ including Acres Destiny, One Moore Daddy, Freckles Fortyniner and many more, attest to the high standard and market appeal of the offering.
New technology is being introduced to this year’s sale with horse enthusiasts from anywhere in the world able to log on, view the sale live, and bid online direct to the sale ring though the Elite Livestock Auctions platform.
“With the outstanding quality of breeding we have, it is quite reasonable to expect interstate and remote bidding interest, and our online service is perfect to capture that interest.”
Sale agents also plan to have pre-sale ridden workouts, which will commence at 7am on sale morning, covered online so remote bidders have the same assessment of the cattle work ability of each horse as those in attendance at Ag-Grow do.
Mr McCaffrey said the success and development of the sale has been built on repeat buyer support of Central, Western and Northern graziers who return regularly to source good quality, sound, cattle work experienced, reliable and quiet stock horses for mustering work.
“That’s as good an endorsement for this sale as you want.
“Buyers have confidence in the standards and genuineness of this sale, as we and our vendors endeavour to ensure every opportunity is given to them to bid on and purchase horses that best suit their requirements.”
Horses can be inspected at Ag-Grow from 3pm on Friday, June 29, and from 7am on Saturday, June 30 with the auction starting at 10am.
