Numbers increased by a little over 1000 to 2830 head yarded at Emerald on May 31.
Overall quality was good to average and with the weaner numbers starting to roll without a flush season, the store market generally eased, while prime cattle remained firm to a cent or so better.
In the prime section, bullocks over 550kg sold to 250c to average 240c, heavy steers 500-550kg reached 247c to average 227c, heavy heifers over 400kg made as much as 218c to average 207c, heavy cows over 520kg topped at 200c to average 187c, cows 450-520kg got to 197c to average 175c and heavy bulls over 600kg reached 246c.
In the store section, heavy feeder steers 400-500kg sold to 250c to average 220c, 350-400kg trade feeder steers reached 289c to average 235c, 280-350kg steers made as much as 300c to average 228c, 200-280 weaner steers selling to 300c to average 259c, while light steers under 200kg reached 295c.
Feeder heifers 350-400kg selling to 230c to average 194c, 280-350kg heifers made to 215c to average 188c, weaner heifers 200-280kg reached 249c to average 197c and light heifers under 200kg sold to 240c. Too few cows and calves to quote this week.

The Dowe Family, Eldeebar, Dingo consigned Droughtmaster cross weaner heifers to 240c to weigh 240kg to return $576.
