With more than 120 exhibitors locked in, the 2018 Richmond Field Days and Races taking place on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 at the Richmond Racecourse is primed to be the biggest and most diverse yet.
Field days committee secretary Kacie Lord said over its 30 years the event has built up a reputation for providing excellent opportunities for businesses to promote their products and services and for offering “a great social event in the north”.
Ms Lord said Richmond has had a “late but good” wet season this year.
“There is a spring in everyone’s step and Richmond is looking better that ever. With lovely cool sunny days this time of year is an absolute delight.,” she said.
Ms Lord said the committee will host a Meet and Greet for the field day sponsors and exhibitors, on the the night of Thursday, May 14.
“It’s a great networking event that everyone is welcome to attend.”
Fridays slate of events will provide visitors with a plethora of options in between inspecting the many exhibits.
“In the MLA Speakers Tent, visitors will hear from presenters from Rabobank and MLA with the talks to focus on future technology, it’ll be very interesting.
“It’s also the first time in four years that MLA will be attending the event, and we welcome them back.”
She said the Hughenden Motorcycles Lawn Mower Derby continues to grow in competitiveness and popularity, with the event returning for its third year in 2018.
“It’s a very funny event which is not to be missed.”
Also returning after a solid result in 2017 is The Richmond Field Days All Breeds Bull Sale which will be held on the racecourse grounds.
On Friday evening, the fun will continue at the Richmond Civic Centre with the Stockplace Cocktail Party.
“The party is always an enormous success, it’s a great spot to relax and have a laugh after a big day.”
Visitors will be able to continue to shop up a storm on Saturday morning until just after midday when the exhibitors will join with field day guests for the Honeycombes Sales and Service Race Day and Emanate Fashions on the Field competition.
“The afternoon is great time to relax, and enjoy the friendly atmosphere that only country race meets can provide.”
The fun doesn’t cease there though with the Ray White Rural and Hastings Deering Ringers Challenge, Rural Pumping Solutions, Tanks Direct and Colemans Stock Feeds sponsored Mechanical Bull Riding competition, and live entertainment sure to keep everyone energised until late.
