There was a cheerful buzz in the crowd at Beef Australia on Tuesday.
The day opened with a breakfast and insights from Rabobank senior analyst Don Close, who spoke about US trends.
Mr Close said forecast growth in US beef production this year has the potential to affect demand and prices for Australian beef in the US.
Stud cattle judging also kicked off and there was plenty happening at the junior led steers.
Meanwhile, Rockhampton Grammar student Scarlett Glyndwr is a vegetarian but that hasn’t stopped her from getting involved in the beef industry.
“I wanted to give them a good live while they are alive,” she said.
“I wanted to know how it all works and what people do with them and how they treat them.”
