It was smiles all round for Wattle Grove Speckle Park Cattle at today’s show ring at Beef Australia 2018.
The Oberon (NSW)-based stud picked up the major awards – Grand Champion Female and Male – along with several category awards, Exhibitors Group and Sire Progeny Stakes.
Stud owner Dale Humphries said it was pleasing to be back at Beef Australia after success at the 2012 and 2015 events.
“It’s a great day,” Mr Humphries said.
Don McConnel, Mt Brisbane Droughtmasters, Esk, was impressed with the quality of cattle before him.
“We haven’t seen too many Speckle Park cattle in Queensland but I’m really impressed,” Mr McConnel said.
“Their ability to fatten but keep the muscle on is tremendous.”
