BELL property Knockane has been listed for sale at $1.55 million after being being passed in at a GDL auction for $1.4m.
Offered by Ian and Carmen Thompson, the 353 hectare (873 acre) property is in nine freehold titles and is being offered with a 142ha oats crop.
Located 12km from Bell and 2km off the Bunya Highway, the country is a combination of good cultivation rising to coolibah ridges, with scattered shade timber. Mostly native blue grasses are present with some buffel.
Knockane’s solar with electric backup water system is a feature of the property. A 32 megalitre intensive livestock allocation is attached to the property. The water is supplied from three bores pumping to tanks and piped to troughs. Each of the five grazing paddocks have water points.
Improvements include a three bedroom Queenslander homestead, machinery shed, hay shed, barn, eight silos, and a 2513 SPU piggery licence. Knockane has been running a 200 sow piggery from farrow to finish for a number of years. There is the possibility of utilising existing sheds for a contract grower unit with minimal inputs required.
