Gracemere agents penned a smaller yarding of 3050 head on April 27 at the prime and store sale consisting of 1273 steers, 1228 heifers, 432 cows, 38 cows and calves and 79 bulls/mickies.
The market held firm for weaner steers, dearer for light feeder steers and firm for all other store cattle. Meatworks cows eased again in line with the falling grids.
There was a full field of buyers present including a couple of new restockers.
Steers to slaughter sold to 261.2c/kg to average 242.6c/kg, steers 400-500kg made 277.2c to average 251.4c, steers 300-400kg topped 340.2c to average 266c, steers 200-300kg reached 321.2c to average 286.2c.
Meanwhile steers under 200kg made 320.2c to average 294.7c.
Slaughter cows sold to 222.2c to average 178.1c, cows 400-450kg topped 225.2c to average 177.2c, cows 320-400kg made 210c to average 138.7c.
Heavy heifers sold to 245.2c to average 223.7c, heifers 300-400kg topped 248.2c to average 223.5c and heifers 200-300kg made 246.2c to average 221c.
Meanwhile heifers under 200kg reached 225c to average 204c.
The better bred cows and calves on offer sold from $1,100 to $1,375/unit. Cows and calves sold to $1375 per unit to average $1114.
Bulls over 600kg made 214.2c to average 190.8c, bulls 450kg-600kg topped 218.2c to average 192.2c, bulls 0-450kg sold to 296.2c to average 197.8c.
