Monto Cattle and Country’s yarding was back in numbers to 300 head at their fortnightly fat and store sale last week. Oppressive heat and some good falls of rain saw cattle held back. Markets firmed for most descriptions with cattle drawn from Harrami, Boyne Valley, Thangool and Monto districts.
Heavy bulls sold from 230c to 245c/kg. Brad and Ingrid Baldwin sold Brangus bullocks 590kgs for 269c/kg or $1467. TJ and SL Clarke “Gwalia” penned Droughtmaster bullocks 582kgs to return $1460. Peter and Kaye Wilson sold Brangus cross bullocks to return $1565 or 251c/kg.
CS and ALR Anger sold Santa cows 562kgs for 221c/kg or $1244 and Brahman cows for 218c/kg or $1130. George Augenstein Jnr sold Simmental cross cows 547kgs for $1189 or 217c/kg.
