Charters Towers combined agents yarded a total of 1663 head on January 24.
Cattle consisted of 939 prime cattle and 724 store cattle.
The prime cattle were made up of 291 bullocks, 88 heifers, 225 cows and 335 bulls.
Store cattle yarded: 297 steers, 372 heifers and 55 cows and calves.
Cattle comprised of good lines of bullocks and limited finished cows with the bulk of the yarding consisting of large runs of male cattle in the 400-600kg range.
The yarding was drawn as far South as Clermont, Richmond, Mt. Surprise, Forsayth, Mt. Garnet, Georgetown and Local and coastal areas.
Prime Quotes:
Bullocks were quoted 4c dearer, heifers were 10c easier, cows were unchanged and bulls were 5c easier, on last year's concluding sale.
Bullocks topped at 266.2c/kg for 16 sold from Mt. Douglas Pastoral Co, weighed 485kg to return $1291.
Best priced trade heifers were presented from BP & SM Kersch, made 237c to weigh 363kg and return $861.
The top pen of cows were sold by PM & AL Finger for 217c and weighed 561kg to return $1218.
Bulls sold from Mt. Douglas Pastoral Co topped at 240c and weighed 603kg to return $1449.

Store cattle comprised of a good line of quality steers and bigger lines of good quality heifers.
A pen of 7 steers from Bluff Holdings made 346c and weighed 184kg returning an average of $638.
A good pen of 5 Heifers from PM & AL Finger made 249c, to weigh 314kg to return $782.
Two cows and calves sold from of Ray and Grace McConnell returned $1160 p/unit.
