FINDING an eleven month parking spot for the chaser bin may not be a problem with a new multi-purpose three-in-one chaser bin.
The Coolamon All Rounder is a world first multi-purpose combination that will be useful all year round, said Coolamon Chaser Bins, general manager, Heath Hutcheon.
“The All Rounder functions as a chaser bin at harvest time, a seed-super unit at sowing time and a fertiliser spreader throughout the year.’’
“The All Rounder effectively replaces two other machines in the machinery shed.
“The price of machinery these days is such a burden on farmers, so if we can reduce their machinery from three to two or even one, that has definitely got merit and is a value add to farmers,” he said.

Mr Hutcheon said using the All Rounder as a spreader would allow growers to increase their crops yield efficiently by topdressing.
“The All Rounder gives the grower the ability to spread two different variable rates at once, reducing spreading passes,” he said.
Designed and manufactured in the Riverina, the All Rounder is an entry in the Henty Machinery Field Days, Machine of the Year Award.
Mr Hutcheon said at harvest, the bin functions as a fully hydraulically operated chaser bin, with a large dropper box to transfer grain from the conveyor belt to the dual delivery augers.
He said the All Rounder is equipped with dual 14’’ unloading augers, and a 800mm wide troughed conveyor belt which acts as a cross auger, reducing damage to pulse crops.
“Four different sizes, 22, 28, 34 and 40 tonne will be available,” he said.
Mr Hutcheon said the spreader was powered by cast iron Haze Ag 600mm twin spinners and would spread urea up to 36 metres.
“We wanted to redesign how a conventional seed-super unit was done, and the way we did that was to use a conveyor belt, with the two augers out the front so it looked like a conventional chaser bin,’’
“We think our company, in terms of innovation, are years in front of our opposition.
“We continue to look forward in terms of what the industry and farmers are after,” he said.
Mr Hutcheon said the unit with the optional track system would be on display at Henty Machinery Field Days and orders would be taken for delivery in 2018.
