Hundreds gathered at Mareeba on Wednesday night to honour the winners of the 2017 Australia Day Awards. Mareeba Rodeo stalwart Jim Blakeney was named citizen of the year. The young citizen of the year award was shared between Katelyn Dickinson and Kate Wilcox.
