Townsville Hospital and Health Service mobile nurse practitioner Jan Gale is helping women in rural areas prioritise their health with a free women’s health clinic.

Ms Gale will visit the Richmond Health Service on June 14 and the Hughenden Multipurpose Health Service on June 15.

“I can help with common female health matters such as pap smears, sexual health testing and treatment,” she said.

She can also offer advice in the areas of menstrual problems, gynaecological concerns and urinary problems.

“While these may be health concerns women face every day, they may indicate other more serious health problems.

Ms Gale has been visiting rural and regional areas around North and parts of North-West Queensland since 2006.

“Being able to work as a nurse practitioner in rural areas is important in ensuring women do not let their health fall by the wayside.”

To make an appointment at Richmond call 47416100 or for Hughenden phone 47412800.
