THE Blackall combined agents yarded 1567 head at the fat and store sale and special mention must go to the Glasson and Parkinson families for donating two Santa cross heifers which sold for a total of $1130.31 to go to the Stock Up For Hope charity.
Agents would like to notify graziers there will be no sale in Blackall during the week of August 18-25. The next sale to be held in Blackall will be the weaner and store sale on August 29.

Cows 300-400kg made 108c to average 64.5c, Cows 400-500kg made 122.2c to average 87.6c, cows over 500kg made 132c to average 116.5c/kg.

IH and PD Campbell, Lyndon, Barcaldine sold Simmental cross cows for 118.0c/kg to average 537kg to return $634/head and FJ and JG Manwaring, Ballygar, Aramac sold Santa cows to a top of 124.0c/kg to average 610kg to return $756/head. They also sold Santa steers to a top of 158.2c/kg to average 319kg to return $505/head.
BF and RC Birchley, Gartmore, Tambo sold Braford bullocks for 151.2c/kg weighing 675kg returning $1021/head and Wololla Partnership, Wololla, Jericho sold Brahman cross cows for 120.2c/kg weighing 537kg returning $646/head.

H & S Glasson 'Greenlaw' Yaraka topped the sale with heavy Santa cows weighing 600kgs that made 132c/kg for $792/head. MF & VC Wacker 'Alice Downs' Blackall sold a striking line of Charolais/Santa cross weaners with the steers making to 161c/kg weighing 247kgs/$399. The heifers weighed 214kgs selling to 142c/$305. D V Bailey of Isisford topped the sale with good quality Santa steers that reached to 168c weighing 296kgs/$498 and also sold soft Santa heifers weighing 260kgs to 122c/$318. Forest Park Pastoral 'Alice Downs' Blackall sold heavy Santa cows to 128c weighing 528kg/$746.
