A NEW format Lancefield Brahmans Invitation Sale to be held at Gracemere Saleyards, Rockhampton on Monday, October 27, will present the 40th auction sale offering of Lancefield Grey and Red Brahmans, a historic milestone in the Australian Brahman industry.
Sale principal vendors Scott and Lizette McCamley and Matthew and Janelle McCamley, representing the renowned Lancefield prefix, will be joined by Andrew and Anna McCamley of 2AM Stud and David and Julie McCamley of Palmal Stud in offering 106 high quality Grey Brahman bulls and 27 excellent Red Brahman bulls at the event.
In total 26 poll/scurr bulls are included as are 10 attractive, purebred commercial herd bulls which add to the sale’s appeal to breeders of top quality steers.
Studmasters, cattle producers and bull buyers will strongly welcome the new innovations to the sale’s catalogue.
Extended Brahman Group Breedplan figures encompassing nine performance criteria and indices, as well as all damline breeding history of each lot is included.
“The information back-up to assist prospective buyers at this sale is fantastic, and very valuable to those studmasters and leading commercial producers who are always looking to optimise production and performance in their herds,” sale co-ordinator Ken McCaffrey of McCaffrey’s Australian Livestock Marketing said.
“The depth of information from these Lancefield bloodlines extends over many decades of Brahman industry and beef industry leadership in Australia, reinforcing the genetic strength values of this sale line-up,” he said.
Sale vendors have selected impressive sons of all their leading sires for the sale, and Brahman breed enthusiasts will recognise the proven, successful Lancefield damlines which have featured in the pedigrees of many of the top sellers at previous sales, as well as in the pedigrees of many of the Brahman breed’s impact sires of the 80’s and 90’s, and of this century.
Eye catching sons of the high profile sires JDH Mr Echo Manso, JDH Mr Brooks Manso, JDH Sir Reno Manso, JDH Beckton Manso, JDH Sir Alamo Manso, JDH Rick Manso and leading Lancefield retained sires Buster, Elgin, Ecstrata, Hercules, Romeo, Dominus, Whistler, Reno’s Pride, etc. are certain to be on studmasters’ shortlists to inspect.
In the poll division, Grey sons of Lancefield Kirby, Titon, Doncaster and Kedron are included, while Lancefield Bazuka has a number of smart red sire sons.
“We have been particular this year in ensuring our sale caters equally to studmasters and to steer breeders,” Matthew McCamley said.
“The soundness of the sale draft to go straight out and work a good season is obvious, the beef performance qualities right through the team is backed up by their EBV’s, weight for age figures and carcass scans, and temperament is excellent,” he said.
“There are numerous high class grey and red sire prospects which have the credentials to interest widespread stud enquiry, however there are also many outstanding bulls ideally suited to top level commercial production and they are usually great value at our sale in the $3,000 to $6,000 range.”
The sale vendors are hosting a Welcome Barbecue Dinner for their sale visitors, sponsored by Westpac, at The Stirling Restaurant, Rockhampton on the evening before sale day.
