Numbers for Monto Cattle and Country's fortnightly fat and store sale were back slightly to 650 head.
A larger yarding of cows was presented selling to 203c/kg, generally 180-190c for better cows. Heavy bulls sold to 259c topping at $2360. No bullocks were yarded but some better quality heavy heifers sold from 240c to 268c topping at $1950. Any lighter conditioned cows sold from 140c to 170c.
Feeder steers 390kg sold to $942 or 240c from limited numbers with good lines of cattle being held over until Monto's annual store cattle show and sale on Wednesday June 19 with currently 1300 head booked from feeder cattle to weaners.
Weaner steers sold to a firm market from 220c to 280c, Brangus steers 245kg returned $686 or 280c. Good frame two tooth Charbray heifers sold from 198c to 213c while heavier 450kg heifers remain very buyable selling from 160c to 209c from limited numbers.
