CQLX and the combined agents hosted the second annual special weaner and feeder sale on June 5, with a total yarding of 3354 head, consisting of 1939 steers and 1415 heifers. Steers sold to a top of 306c and the heifers to top of 224c.
Presented were quality lines of both steers and heifers, effectively drawing stronger competition and results 30c above weekly store rates. Particularly, heavier, larger lines, while maintaining quality, sold to the strongest market, with heifers in less demand compared to the 2018 results.
Steers 400-500kg made 270c, average 268c, steers 300-400kg reached 306c, average 265c, steers 200-300kg made 302c, average 261c and steers under 200kg sold to 262c, average 227c.
Heifers 300-400kg made 220c, average 202c, heifers 200-300kg reached 224c, average 193c, and heifers under 200kg made 204c, average 176c.
Bulls under 450kg sold to 215c, average 184c.
