WAGYU genetics will feature at Beef 2018 with a fullblood sale to be held at the Great Western Hotel in Rockhampton on May 7.
To be conducted live by Elders as well as being interfaced on AuctionsPlus, the sale about 60 live animals plus genetic material offered by 10 vendors will be held from 6pm-9.30pm.
The sale will be the first sale of its kind incorporating the best Wagyu in Australia at and a ring-side gala dinner.
Adding to the interest of the breed is that Australia’s best branded Wagyu beef also will be decided just a week before Beef 2018. The Australian Wagyu Association’s branded beef competition will be held as part of the AWA’s annual conference in Mackay on May 2-6.
The highly regarded branded beef competition seeks to promote excellence in Wagyu beef production over four categories. Importantly the competition provides an opportunity for producers to benchmark their product.
