However, the current heat wave didn’t deter buyers in the Brahman section of the two day sale with used sires hitting a high of $32,000, Brahman bulls selling to $17,000 and their heifer counterparts making to $15,000.

In a breakdown of the catalogue, 79 Brahman bulls sold to $17,000 to average $4740 to clear 74 per cent of the market, while a pair of used sires averaged $18,500 topping at $32,000 for a total clearance of that section.

Heifers made to $15,000 and on the way posted a $3598 medium for an improved 93 per cent clearance for the 41 sold.

Overall, market topper at $32,000 was the five and a half year old, proven sire, 1038kg, Stewart Park Kody 110 (AI) (ET) (H) offered by Ian and Debbie Frampton, Little Creek Stud, Dallarnil. Purchasing the son of Elrose Kody Man (ET) (H) was Shane and Sandra Griffin, Shandra Stud, Charons Ferry, Ogmore.

Top seller in the Brahman bulls on offer at $17,000 was the 34-month-old, 859kg, 136 EMA, Avee 753 (P) (Lancefield A Cooper 3208 (AI) (ET) (P)) offered by Wowan breeders, Bill and Vicki Gabel, Avee Stud. Purchasing the PP youngster were Kelvin and Margaret Maloney, Kenilworth Stud, Mt Coolon.

Don and Carol Sivyer, Wundaru, Farleigh outlaid $15,000 to secure the day’s top selling female, MCL Sammi 1585 (D). The 11-month- old daughter of Yenda V Bomber was sold by the Bram and Dell McLennan and family, MCL Stud, Goovigen.
