A smaller yarding than the previous week saw 2140 head penned at CQLX Gracemere on Friday, comprised of 1009 steers, 632 heifers, 305 cows, 130 cows and calves and 89 bulls.
Cattle were drawn from most local areas together with some plainer conditioned cattle from Bowen, Nebo and Collinsville.
Quality was mixed throughout the yarding due to the number of small lines, however overall it was good. There was a full field of buyers present and value for prime cattle improved while lighter restocker and feeder type cattle eased on last week’s rates.
