WHEN Lindy Hick stepped out with her camera this afternoon, she was hoping to snap the beginning of the end.

At Antrim Station, south of Hughenden, Lindy took the above beautiful photo of her daughter Francesca Hick, and said “hopefully this will be 'the photo' that we look back on and say, that was the year the drought finally broke”.

Ms Hick said they received 42mm last night, and it is still raining – with another 25mm last time she checked the rain gauge before night.

It has been a day of rain for some of Queensland, with plenty of people taking to the Who Got The Rain Facebook page to share their joy.

Here’s just a few of today’s posts!

Noelene Bauer: 40mm Arlington, Augathella 4477.

Norman Crouch: 50mm at Mt Scoria via Thangool in the last 12 hours.

Kane Duff: 49mm at Sandalwood Valley, 30 km north of Injune.
