The majority of the yarding was made up of over prime cows at Roma prime cattle sale on January 25.

A total yarding of 542 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on January 25.

Steers over 550kg sold to 259c/kg and averaged 247c, while steers 400-550kg class made 259c, averaging 229c.

Heifers over 450kg made to 237c and averaged 229c, heifers 350-450kg class sold to 240c, averaging 235c.

Moyallen Past Co, Plain View, Mitchell sold Angus cross heifers for 240c at 405kg returning $974.

Cows over 500kg peaked at 247c and averaged 207c, while cows in the 400-500kg class topped at 215c and averaged 193c. Cows 300-400kg sold to 184c and averaged 177c.

DA & KL York, Bainbilla, Surat sold Charolais cross cows for 228c at 507kg returning $1158. Athelstane Pastoral Co., Athelstane Station, Winton sold Charbray cross cows for 216c at 609kg returning $1316. Keddstock, Moongool, Yuleba sold Charolais cows for 215c at 633kg returning $1362. 

AR & AG Anderson, East Sunrise, Injune sold Brahman cross cows for 215c at 572kg returning $1232. The Charolais cross heifers sold for 225c at 517kg returning $1164. RM Kehl, Timbalite, Taroom sold Hereford cross cows for 212c at 600kg returning $1273. The Charolais bull sold for 248c at 910kg returning $2,256. P.D. & S.E. Joliffee, Walhallow, Amby sold Santa cows for 208c at 643kg returning $1340. D.T. & K.A. York Family Trust, Wattle Park, Wallumbilla sold Simbrah Cross cows for 208c at 598kg returning $1246. The Simbrah Cross heifers sold for 230c at 575kg returning $1322. G.S. & C.J. White, Marionvale, Surat sold Charbray cross cows for 205c at 648kg returning $1329.

Bulls over 600kg earned to 248c and averaged 228c.
