Visitors won’t be left wanting for activities and events to investigate during this year’s Hughenden Show taking place from Friday, June 1 to Sunday, June 3.
Celebrating its 135th year in 2018, Hughenden Show Society secretary Maree Christensen, said the ongoing appeal and popularity of the event lies in the fact that the committee “strives to keep the agricultural side of our show alive”.
“We have had great numbers of entries in the prime and stud cattle sections in the last two years, and we’re also looking at introducing a bull sale into this section, which will hopefully encourage more beef producers to get involved. We also continue to receive strong numbers in the wool fleece sections and horse events.
“The youngsters also love the idea of showing off their dogs, cats and other best mates in our pet section, and visitors enjoy coming and having a look at the colourful collections being showcased in the poultry section.”

Maree said the Society has an amazing arts and crafts committee.
“They make it their priority to boost the photography, cooking and sewing sections each year. And all our local schools support the show with the handwriting competition and other displays which highlight the talent in their respective classes.
“There is so much to do and see at the Hughenden Show, it’s well worth coming and taking a look.”
