The Roma prime cattle sale penned a total yarding of 568 head on December 7.


A total yarding of 568 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s prime sale on December 7.

Steers over 550kg sold to 280c and averaged 265c, while steers in the 400-550kg class sold to 275c, averaging 253c. Yarrawonga Cattle Co, Yarrawonga, Wallumbilla sold Santa steers for 280c at 620kg returning $1737. KM Neilson, Woodstock, Roma sold Charolais cross steers for 275c at 540kg returning $1486. BB&PD Mason, Teeswater, Mitchell sold Charolais cross steers for 273c at 548kg returning $1499. Noel W&BE York & Sons, Yorkaringa, Wallumbilla sold Hereford steers for 272c at 557kg returning $1518. Jaletto PTY. LTD., Weemala, Taroom sold Santa cross steers for 270c at 668kg returning $1803.

Heifers over 450kg made to 263c and averaged 248c, heifers in the 350-450kg class sold to 227c, averaging 227c.

BB&AM Cameron, Waikola, Wallumbilla sold Brangus heifers for 258c at 560kg returning $1680.

Cows over 500kg peaked at 231c and averaged 220c, while cows in the 400-500kg class also topped at 257c and averaged 212c. Cows 300-400kg sold to 200c and averaged 177c.

Malcolm Burey, Back Creek, Amby sold Brahman cross cows for 248c at 460kg returning $1141. WL&MA Bryant, Cytherea, Mitchell sold Brahman cows for 231c at 503kg returning $1162. S&R White Family Trust, Mt Saltbush, Roma sold Charolais cross cows for 228c at 638kg returning $1455. Ninderra Grazing Co, Ninderra, Injune sold Santa cross cows for 228c at 590kg returning $1346.

Bulls over 600kg earned to 278c and averaged 251c.
