Another millionaire has been made in Far North Queensland but they don’t know their change of fortunes.
Golden Casket officials are urging all players in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw to check their tickets so they can begin the process of handing over $1.34 million.
The mystery division one winner bought their ticket at Weipa News & Traders, Shop 14, Heritage Shopping Centre, Lot 55 Commercial Avenue, Weipa.
Because the entry wasn’t registered to a Winners Circle card, Golden Casket officials must wait for the ticketholder to check their entry and discover their dream-come-true news.
The Weipa entry was one of three division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3795 on December 2.
The other two were from New South Wales. Each took home a division one prize of $1,340,376.71.
The Far North Queensland winner is also the 100th division one winner in Queensland so far this calendar year.
Golden Casket spokesman, Matt Hart, said he was eager to confirm the division one news with Far North Queensland’s newest millionaire.
“Our winner could be completely unaware they are now a millionaire. I’m sure the news would immediately cure any Mondayitis they might be feeling today!” he said.
“We’re urging all players to check their entries as soon as possible and if you discover you are holding the registered division one winning ticket to contact Golden Casket on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3795 on Saturday 2 December 2017, were 25, 44, 14, 8, 16 and 23. The supplementary numbers were 2 and 9.
Another FNQ prize remain unclaimed
As well as this latest mystery, Golden Casket is yet to hear from a Far North Queensland Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto player who won $2 million almost four years ago.
The division one winner of Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3315 on January 22, 2014, purchased their entry from NewsExtra DFO Cairns, Shop 255, DFO Cairns, 274 Mulgrave Road, Cairns.
Last financial year, there were 275 division one winning Saturday Gold Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $283 million.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 385 so far this calendar year, including 100 won by Golden Casket customers.
