CONTROVERSIAL Labor politician Jackie Trad is placed to be returned in South Brisbane on the back of LNP preferences.
At the close of counting on Saturday night Ms Trad held 36.09 per cent of the primary vote behind Greens candidate Amy MacMahon with 35.86pc of the vote.
However, LNP candidate Simon Quinn secured 21.95pc. Preferences from the LNP vote are likely to flow strongly to Labor, handing the seat to Ms Trad.
Ms Trad is well known for her anti-agriculture stance, regularly attacking farmers over vegetation management issues.

Speaking on Channel 9, outgoing member for Callide, Jeff Seeney, said the decision had been made to preference the Greens last in South Brisbane. The difficult decision was made on the basis the far left party had the potential to severely damage Queensland if elected to power, especially if in a balance of power position.
