ONLY seven lots before Carinya Hazelwood sold for $115,000, the stud then saw another great sale with Carinya Hayden selling to Anna and Andrew McCamley, 2AM Stud, Dingo for $70,000.
I guess when you can see what you hope he will do with your herd, you have to invest!
- Anna McCamley, 2AM Stud, Dingo
The second top price grey bull, 23 months of age with a scrotal circumference of 41cm and an EMA of 141cm sq, was one of the McCamley’s many purchases over the two days including the $100,000 Brahrock HJ Sir Jax offered by the Sommerfeld family, Beaver Rock, Maryborough who they purchased in partnership with Matthew and Janelle McCamley, Lancefield M, Dululu.
Anna McCamley said Hayden would be going into the stud herd where they run about 800 breeders.
“He has great weight for age, very well muscled, heavy bone and a terrific head,” Ms McCamley said.
She added they were hoping not to pay as much for him, but said he was definitely worth the money.
“I guess when you can see what you hope he will do with your herd, you have to invest!” she said.
Carinya’s Mitch Kirk said Hayden had always been a standout calf.
“He was a really, really good bull,” he said.
“He’s by one of our own home-bred bulls, Carinya Mario, who was a show bull that was pretty successful.
“He (Carinya Mario) has produced a number of top prices for us over previous years, but never that much!”
Carinya Hayden bull was out of a Carinya female, Carinya Miss Sophie.
