There was a yarding of 613 head at Roma Prime Sale on Thursday, where the majority of the yarding was cows to slaughter, with many almost too heavy off the diminishing oats as the hot and dry kicks in.
About 180 younger cattle were offered with just a handful sent to feed along with 65 bullocks for slaughter.
All buyers were in attendance operating in a market that held similar to the last sale.
Steers over 550kg sold to 271c/kg and averaged 262c, while steers in the 400- 550kg sold to 255c, averaging 232c.

Cows over 500kg peaked at 221c and averaged 204c, while cows in the 400- 500kg class topped at 216c and averaged 199c.
Cows 300-400kg sold to 175c and averaged 137c.
C.A. Flower & Co, Callitris Nth, Condamine sold Santa cross cows at 217c at 261kg returning $1350/head.
Bulls over 600kg earned to 241c and averaged 221c.
