Tremere Pastoral’s 11th annual African Genetic Bull sale was well supported by regular buyers last Friday at Moura, according to stud principle Swin Hudson.
The draft of 42 bulls consisted of Bonsmara/Belmont bloodlines with 79 per cent of the draft polled.
Top price sire of the sale was a polled Bonsmara/Belmont with excellent growth and carcase Estimated Breeding Values that rated him in the top five per cent of the register.
The 21-month-old bull noted for his early maturity was purchased for $10,500 by the Stevenson family, Spring Creek, Springsure.
“Volume buyers at the sale were from Charters Towers, Eidsvold and Nebo and could purchase fertile bulls with confidence as all bulls had passed a BBSE and had a tested minimum of 70 per cent normal semen,” Mr Hudson said.
“The extensive sire data provided, allowed buyers to put together lines of bulls to meet their requirements.”
Tremere Pastoral principal Swin Hudson said he was happy with the helmsman system as it enables a paddock sale atmosphere at an auction sale. He thanked the buyers for their continued support.
Tremere Pastoral is a family operated primary production business providing tropically adapted Bos Taurus genetics to the Beef Industry and established in 1958 by Mort and Barbara Hudson.
