Guests to the 23rd annual Australian Italian Festival will feel like they’ve been whisked away to a genuine Italian piazza upon entering through the gates to this year’s event taking place in Ingham on Saturday, August 5 and Sunday, August 6.
Festival director Donna Zanotto said this year’s festival theme is “I Dream of Italy” which will be conveyed by turning the breathtaking TYTO grounds, into a bustling hub of food, drink and craft stalls.
“To further enhance the atmosphere more than 100 entertainers including tenors, sopranos, choirs, singers, musicians, bicycle trial stunts, the 1RAR Band, comedians and more will appear across two stages over each day and night,” Donna said.
Parents and kids alike are welcome to join in the games and competitions including the Greasy Pole Climbing; Pizza and Ravioli Eating; Grape Stomping; Gondola Races; Toga Races and more.
Due to overwhelming demand Luciano and Martino from MKR will host the Carey Group cooking demonstrations again this year, presenting you with the taste and aromas of Italian cooking.
Younger guests are also well catered for with free amusement rides, face painting and a puppet show being incorporated into the Wilmar Kids Corner this year.
