Honeycombes Sales and Service returned to the business of selling trucks in March this year after being awarded franchises for the sales and service of IVECO, and Hino trucks, together with service of Scania trucks.
Your North Queensland based dealer for John Deere, JCB, Mazda, and Holden, the Honeycombes Townsville operation has relocated to larger facilities in Garbutt.
Honeycombes Group Support Manager, Dave Kelsey said the facility boasts more showroom space, a large drive-through four bay workshop, and a two bay wash down area, which will let the locally employed team sell and service the full range of trucks including the all new International Prostar.
“In addition to full sales, parts and service capabilities, the new centre will also house our JCB and industrial equipment operations.” Mr Kelsey said.
“We are also a large distributor for Gulf Western Oils, ITR track components and ground engaging tools and Parts Express aftermarket machine parts,” he said.
The IVECO Daily range, including the award winning 4x4 models, will also be available from the Honeycombes Ayr and Ingham branches.
“We see the Daily 4x4 as an extremely capable off-road vehicle which is gaining serious attention from the market, with the likes of the Rural Fire Brigade, Ergon, CUBIC Defence, and Centrogen now owners, as well as growers and offroad buyers including enthusiasts.”
He said the Hino 300, 500 and 700 Series trucks are also proving to be very popular across the region.
“We recently sold three out west as cattle trucks, and Hino has just released the new 500 Wide Cab. We took one out to the Richmond Field Days and the Cloncurry Show, where it garnered a lot of interest.”
To celebrate the grand opening of the Truck and Machinery Centre, Honeycombes Townsville will be holding a launch day on July 5, from 3pm to 5pm.
“We’ll have V8 Supercar drivers Craig Lowndes from Team Vortex and Shane Van Gisbergen and Jaimie Whincup from the Red Bull Holden Racing Team (both teams sponsored by IVECO), the local Scout group will put on a sausage sizzle, the Red Bull Wings team will be there, Townsville Collectibles will have their die-cast models on display, and we’ll hold a prize draw for a signed helmet and we’ll have plenty of other giveaways.
“We’ll also have representatives from some of our partners available for our customers to chat to.”
