A yarding of 3147 head were presented at Gracemere on June 23 - an increase on last week’s numbers. The sale comprised 1415 steers, 1182 heifers, 432 cows, 62 x 62 cows and calves and 56 bulls.
Cattle were drawn from the usual local areas as well as Bowen, Collinsville and Nebo. The market improved or remained firm for most classes of cattle, light weight steers eased due to the large line offered last week, however remained firm to previous weeks. Cows and calves also sold to a s trong panel of buyers.
HIGHLIGHTS
Black Grazing, Blackwater, sold prime Brangus cows to 335c, weighing 612kg to return $1440.
John and Kelly Kozicka, Burrenbring, Nebo, sold good Quality Brahman cows and calves for $1700 per unit. The vendor also sold PTIC cows for $1100.
Petdes Pty Ltd, Milton Station, Calliope, sold 263 Brahman cross No.7 steers to average 393c, weighing 240kg to average $941.
Barlow Cattle Co, Aralven, Dingo, sold 101 No.7 Brangus steers to average 405c, weighing 241 returning $977.
Spelta Grazing, Brooklands, Gogango, sold a run of Santa cross weaner steers for 386c weighing 298kg returning $1151.
