Sarah Packer, TopX, Roma, sets a Queensland-first with her selection, being the first woman selected to compete at the Ekka.
After being unsuccessful in her bid last year, Ms Packer, 24, will take to the auctioneers box in August.
“I’ve been given a pretty great opportunity to work with TopX, Cyril (Close) took me on board two years ago which was a big thing,” Ms Packer said.
She said taking on the role as an auctioneer was “nerve-wracking, but a good challenge”.
“I’m very privileged to be where I am so I’m not going to shy away from it,” she said.
“I’ve been given a bit more opportunity to sell at the Roma yards, you start off with the cows and calves.
“All the boys at the yards are always stirring you up but it’s only to help you push up and move on.”
