Around 200 people celebrated the return of grassfed racing to the Tower Hill course west of Muttaburra on Saturday and Sunday after a drought-enforced three-year recess.
With 40 horses nominating, they were treated to a great weekend of picnic racing, golf and volleyball.
The club started in 1909 but thanks to war, flood and drought, the weekend meet was the 92nd time it’s been run.
Saturday’s winner at the non-TAB meet were: Diamond Hay (trained by John Delahunty), Honey Blonde (Frank Manwaring), Meribel Magic (Frank Manwaring), Isabella Esther (Phil Owens), Roman Pleasure (Robyn Brown), Craiglea Altise (Robert Macintosh), and Leicazupa (Robyn Brown).
