THE 1400 well bred cattle were in demand at George and Fuhrmann's annual Charolais and other breeds sale in Warwick today.
Backed by an outstanding season, buyers showed plenty of enthusiasm for the lines of quality cattle on offer. Heavy weaner steers generall made 380-400c, medium weight 400-420c and light weights were into the 450c range.
Awards for the champion pens of Charolais steers and heifers went to Fred Whitbread, Eukey. The champion pens of Charolais/British steers and heifers, and the champion pen of Charolais/Bos Indicus heifers, were offered by the Greenup Maryland Partnership.
The champion pen of Charolais/Bos Indicus steers were yarded by Richard and Kim Vandesande and Shelford Downs. Chowrey Grazing, Greenmount , had the champion pen of replacement heifers.
