A total yarding of 562 head of cattle was penned at Roma’s prime sale on Thursday, April 20. Steers over 550kg sold to 311c and averaged 302c, while steers in the 400-550kg sold to 286c, averaging 259c.
Gary and Kerry Ladbrook, Bulah, Yuleba, sold EU accredited Brangus cross steers for 311c at 572kg returning $1780.
Burradoo Property Trust, Burradoo, Wallumbilla, sold Charolais cross steers for 308c at 616kg giving a return of $1901. The Santa-cross heifers sold at 294c for 385kg returning $1132.
RJ Purnell, Havington View, Roma, sold Santa steers at 308c for 586kg returning $1806.
Keddstock Pty Ltd, Moongool, Yuleba, sold Charolais steers for 305c at 650kg returning $1983. The Charolais cows sold for 255c at 683kg giving a return of $1744. The Senepol bulls went for 250c at 960kg giving a return of $2400. And the Charbray bulls sold at 258c for 800kg returning $2065.
Heifers over 450kg made to 280c and averaged 268c, and heifers in the 350-450kg range sold at a top of 294c, averaging 287c.
Gwenbrook Farms Pastoral Co, Gwenbrook, Roma, sold Santa cross heifers for 280c for 506kg giving a return of $1418. The Santa-cross cows went for 231c at 555kg returning $1283. And the Santa bulls sold at 260c for 760kg returning $1976.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 269c and averaged 247c, while cows in the 400-500kg class topped at 281c and averaged 237c. Cows 300-400kg sold to 177c and averaged the same of 177c.
Nugent Pastoral Co, Tambo Station, Tambo, sold Santa cross cows for 253c at 633kg returning a total of $1604. The Santa bulls hit 246c for 800kg giving a return of $1969.
Bulls over 600kg earned to 272c and averaged 248c.
