Buyer confidence was high and prices were on the rebound post Cyclone Debbie at Monto's fortnightly fat and store sale.

Prices rebounded after substantial falls resulting from Cyclone Debbie’s pathway through the North Burnett. Buyer confidence was high at Monto’s fortnightly fat and store sale at which 788 head were yarded.  

Heavy bulls sold from 240 to 280c topping at $2590.  MD Louttit sold 528kg Bazadais cross steers to 326c or $1722.  Paul VanClooster sold 538kg Charbray steers for 284c or $1530.  

Kacey Sanderson sold Hereford heifers 443kg for $1166 or 263c.  Hurdle Gully Grazing’s Droughtmaster trade heifers at 410kg sold for 301c or $1235. GD&VA Murray sold 495kg Brahman cows for 250c or $1240.  

Ron Talbot sold Droughtmaster cross steers 486kg for 334c or $1625.  Tom Clarke’s 388kg Droughtie steers made $1243 or 320c.  Birch Pastoral sold a run of Droughtmaster No.6 steers to average $1100 or 342c.  Ian McLaughlan sold Droughtmaster No.6 steers 305kg for 359c or $1095. I&J Creed sold quality Angus weaner steers 244kg for 386c or $942.  R&L Blyton’s Charbray cross weaner steers sold for $962 or 376c. 

SA&PK Leahy sold a quality run of Santa No.5 and 6 heifers with the lead heifers at 378kg selling to 305c or $1153.  The middle weight run of heifers 303kg sold to 321c or $976 and light heifers 253kg sold to 337c or $854.  Coominglah Grazing sold 328kg Brahman cross heifers for 310c or $1017. Nev and Helen Iversen sold Droughtmaster heifers 325kg for 305c or $990.
